Dr. Rick Coker, affectionately known in Tyler as “The Smile Doctor,” is a leading cosmetic and restorative dentist in East Texas. As a pioneer in cosmetic dentistry in the region, he has helped countless patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles while addressing TMJ and jaw pain, mild-to-moderate sleep apnea, migraine headaches, periodontal disease, and long-term dental function.

Since graduating from the University of Texas Dental Branch, Dr. Coker has been practicing aesthetic and comprehensive dentistry in Tyler. He pursues extensive continuing education each year, lectures on various dental topics, and, together with his wife Melinda, regularly hosts professional dental meetings in the area. His dedication and expertise have earned him repeated recognition as a Texas Monthly Super Dentist.

Dr. Coker’s passion for cosmetic dentistry ensures that every patient receives personalized care and achieves the smile they’ve always wanted. I have searched for a long time for an ideal practice transition, one that I think will satisfy my patients' needs and concerns, my team’s needs, and my own desire to keep contributing. Let me be clear: I’m not retiring. I’ll still be treating patients, just as I always have, only now in a new location where I can offer even more comprehensive care. This move was made with your long-term dental health and comfort in mind, as well as my true passion, creating beautiful smiles.

One of the many advantages for my patients is that most complex procedures can now be performed in one location rather than being referred out. Our patients will now also have access to in-office IV sedation dentistry, administered by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, which makes longer or more complex treatments far more comfortable and helps alleviate anxiety in patients who experience dental fear.
